Welfare for Greenland?

My guess that Trump's renewed interest in Greenland has been triggered by the new strategy for the base announced in November '24. Perhaps the fact the Royal Canadian Air Force seem to have a presence there is another reason for his interest in Canadian.  Must admit I'd missed the name change from Thule.https://www.space.com/space-exploration/missions/what-is-the-us-space-force-doing-in-greenland

The US has had a base in northern Greenland for decades.  Used to be called Thule but is now Pituffik.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pituffik_Space_BaseSurely that will do?Free MAGA hats might swing it though.

We should be told. It would be a bit of a departure, wouldn't it?
