I'd also like to know why Badenoch hasn't expressed outrage over Musk's attack on Jess Phillips as a "rape genocide apologist" who "deserves to be in prison" for not launching an enquiry into the grooming scandal (does he also think Prof. Alexis Jay also deserves to be in prison?). Musk's comments are not just vile but, in view of what happened to David Amess and Jo Cox, potentially extremely dangerous.

Interviewed on Today on Radio 4 this morning. Prof. Alexis Jay said that there should be no more inquiries into grooming gangs because it would further delay action by government: “The time has passed for more inquiries. We’ve had enough of inquiries, consultations and discussions. People should just get on with it locally and nationally.” Is that clear enough for Badenoch, do you think?

Ivonne, Musk didn't just poke his nose in; he did it using disgusting language combined with lies. I find it appalling that the Badenock  et al haven't disowned him for his language. It would have been reasonable for him to ask why the last government hadn't implemented the recommendations and when the new one was going to do it; perhaps query if it was because another inquiry was necessary, but his language was totally unacceptable. Yes, it's just turned political now.

Starmer is attacking the sudden rage of the Tories who had 14 years in power to sort things out but comprehensively failed. Now suddenly prompted by the utterly untrusworthy Musk the Tories jump on Musk's ignorant and malicious bandwagon, pretending outrage against a government which has been in power for 6 months. Anybody who bothered to read can find Starmer beginning the fightback against the gangs over 12 years ago.Starmer is not attacking the victims, he is responding to the dishonest hypocritical attacks by the Right.In a long life, I have never seen such a blatantly dishonest period in politics as the last 10 years.

You quote Badenoch as saying "That such a huge scandal could occur should prompt soul-searching not ranting that those of us who care about it are 'the far-Right'."Absolute faux outrage from her, when the last government, of which she was a part, cared so little about the scandal that it failed to implement even a single one of the recommendations of Prof Jay's 2022 report. A little soul-searching on her part, instead of echoing the far right and opportunistically jumping on the latest bandwagon, would be rather more appropriate.

I think we need a bit of balance here.The subject of the grooming gangs scandal has turned totally political. All MPs are trying to score political points at the back of the poor children who were tortured and raped. The enquiry was set up in 2014.  Professor Jay became the fourth head of the enquiry in August 2016 after the three previous chairwomen resigned. Prof. Jay's report on the enquiry took 8 years to be completed and published. The report was published in 2022 and nothing happened on its recommendations until 2025 when Elon Musk poked his nose in.  Well, he is poking his nose in all over the place with lots of misinformation in order to prop up, in his eyes, those political parties he agrees with. Grrrr!Coming back to the main subject, ALL parties in Parliament have let everybody down very badly indeed, particularly those poor children and their families.The principle of right and wrong has gone out of the window which is beyond sickening.I said before, the calibre of politicians we have, and have had, is dire.  They should all hang their head in shame.
