The Foreign Office was not bound to continue the ill-advised negotiations 9n Chagos entered into by the previous government. The government is 100% responsible for its decision to proceed.

But they didn't, they continued it and Labour kept it going..Personally I dont care either way but please stop trying to lay 100% of the blame at the fault of the current government, it's at least partially down to the previous one.

If Starmer had thought it wrong he would surely have stopped the deal in its tracks. The fact he didnt is down to him not his predecessors.At some point this lot need to act like a govt. They cannot continue simply blaming everyone else, that's called an opposition.

Neither do I Steven. My first thought that it was Lammy grandstanding but it was obviously approved by Starmer. Two dangerous idiots together, whatever will they give away next?
