White lion hotel

I see the freehold to the white lion is up for sale. If they get a buyer I wonder if anything will be done to it.  So much potential. I did hear it's full of squatters but I'm not sure of that as there always seems to be lights on inside.

Correct! I spoke to the Victorian Society several years ago about the deterioration of this building. They were monitoring the situation.

Very much part of Putney history,On November 7 1943 my dear friend George Rough(RIP) left the Cinderella Ballroom to have a farewell drink with some sailor mates in The White Lion. While there the bomb dropped and he lost his fiance. He later married a girl who had lost her man at Dunkirk.I remember its last Australian phase when it did stand up in the cellar.
