I believe Ange (not the Spurs manager) has given all local authorities house building targets.As Wandsworth is now Labour run, I assume the target will be what is required and will be fully Government funded.

There needs to be more transparency about social housing allocation and costs.Currently the electorate is meant to make decisions without the basic facts.

Because the results are ranked it doesn't necessarily mean those in the area ranked No. 1 are happy. Wandsworth council tax has been the joint lowest in London for a long time whilst also providing fantastic public services such as waste management, which in my opinion is superb. My point is that this laudable performance isn't soley down to the Labour administration and its amalgamation with Richmond.

Certainly the Southfields part of Wandsworth was a very happy place last night when the Mayor turned on its Christmas lights.Replingham Road closed to traffic; local shops selling food at reasonable prices and providing complimentary mulled wine; and the highlight - the singing from the choirs of local primary schools.Riversdale, Sheringdale and St Michaels.And a good pint of Greene King bitter at the The Old Fields.A very friendly and enterprising community.

Is there a shortage of social housing in Wandsworth ?If Labour run Wandsworth delivers good social services at a charge of £961 for a band D home whilst LibDem Kingston charges £2374 and Labour Croydon (bankrupt for the third time) £2366 what is not to like ?And if housing costs for those not in social housing are high then unfortunately people will either have to pay them for the privilege of living in Wandsworth or look to live 'further out' where prices and rents are lower.That is what I did in 1970.

Cars being stolen, jam packed roads in the morning. Parcels pinched from your door step. Begging in the High Street, only food shops. Continual traffic in the High street 20 mph everywhere. Would have thought Sheen was better and Barnes.

Ckearly with average property values in excess if £ 800k and monthly rents of £3500 they never got a view from the thousands of folk living in social housing.A somewhat slanted estate agent survey to assist their sales in selected areas.
