I dont use lights on my Christmas tree however out of interest I flame tested some new tinsel I bought online. The result was quite scary, it didn't just burn, it flared violently. Be careful!

Am I being stupid, what would make it burn. Most I expect use to buy tinsel on cheap shops. Would it burst into flame by itself. Or do you mean from lights on the tree.

Hi Barbara, Christmas trees are one of the main sources of fires during December (fairy lights, candles, too close to open fire)
