Torch Parade Roehampton 21 Nov in support of ending male violence against women and girls
The SW15 Women's Network are holding a Torch Parade on Thursday 21 November, White Ribbon Day, at 6pm. This will be opened by the Mayor of Wandsworth. It's in support of the global movement to end male violence against women and girls, which is sadly on the rise. Mysogeny online has ramped up since the US election. The numbers of reported incidents are alarmingly high in England, and, as they think more than half aren't reported, it's worrying to think of how many women and girls are living with abuse. It's across the board too. Stats say that 18% of all recorded crime in England and Wales is related to domestic violence. A woman is killed every 3 days by a man according to police sources. Meet at the junction of Danebury Ave and Roehampton Lane with a torch, lantern or phone,
