Water

Has anybody had a problem with their water this morning, turned on hot then cold in the kitchen, it spluttered, kept stopping starting. Then went into the bathroom, the same happened. a neighbour had the same problem. Don't know if the water was turned off in the night or a water main burst.

As a monopoly with a guaranteed customer base it was a ridiculous idea for the Govt to sell off our water knowing that it could then be owned by other countries over which we do not have authority.

There were two water tankers on the corner of Raynes Road and St John's Avenue earlier today.

It appears it was one end of our road more than the other. My friend the other end was OK. This was about 7.45 this morning might have gone on a lot before that. Also this was a few years ago now, I was a Secretary at Pottertons when it was in Wandsworth for the Technical Officer. Also took Service calls, I had heard from the Engineers as Michael has said certain boilers up Putney Hill there wasn't enough pressure.

The Wandsworth repair is still WIP; I know at least one block of flats in East Putney with no hot water because of insufficient water pressure. We're offering show facilities to friends who live there!Perhaps it's having an effect on the system elsewhere?

Could be to do with the main recharge after the burst in Wandsworth.....wher will the next burst on the line be ?

Ivonne, my other half is a builder, thanks for the info. but other residents in my road have the same problem early this morning. But water OK now.

Possibly an air lock in the pipes?One solution is to open all taps to the full.  There will  be a lot of spluttering and loud sounds - some very loud indeed.  Hopefully that will clear it!  If not, contact Thames Water.
