John, this was about Putney Forum. Is Putney so boring everybody is moving out to somewhere else. We already have somebody from Ealing who puts things on here, then twists every subject.  We came back from Wandsworth High Street a couple of weeks and there was a leak starting to spurt up in the air opposite the Southside. This has only just been put on the front page of the Forum. There is also a lot of homeless people look like they congregate there at the weekend. There are homes being built by the Halfway House, Priest Bridge. Now the Stag Pub. Richardson Motors and Factory all pulled down. Surely there must be something of interest in Putney.

It's only a matter of time before the market adjusts and the high street starts providing the shops that people want.I am of course talking about a gambling shoe shop with all the best features mentioned by Barbara.A shop filled with slot machines that pays out shoes!You enter your desired size, style, colour etc pay your water and pull the lever. Out of stock house wins, wrong size house wins... But after a few goes you may get lucky.Shoe roulette coming to your high St soon!

Completely right, I could go into H & M and some of the material wouldn't last 5 minutes. If you go in T K MAXX takes too long sorting out everything. On line, the sizes can be completely wrong. My other half ordered trainers size ten and they sent little children's, you are forever sending things back. Especially shoes I have ordered from Pavers and there a bit too small, made in China.

To be honest,  Roberts, my preference is to buy some items - suits, jackets, trousers, shoes - where I can try them on. However, I think many buy from online stores because the business model seems to provide competitive pricing and convenience. Sometimes people have items delivered to their workplace or use the delivery points in convenience stores to get around the stolen items problem.

I think this is changing rapidly by missing (stolen) deliveries in Cities Michael.  Plus many prefer and need to see items in the flesh to assess fabric and size.  Computers are good but not that good when it comes to clothes.

I thinks the reason clothes shops aren't represented in Putney High Street is because many people are buying clothes online which means clothes shops aren't sustainable in smaller high streets.

Welcome Jules, please tell us if you hear of any shoe shops or clothes shops opening. As Putney residents will be going down the High Street naked soon.

Apologies Jules welcome to the forum.Ps if you think the topics are overly focused on politics just be was grateful you missed the forum on Brexit.  However different we are we are still a community.  Please post lots to keep variety of topics.PPS David it is a pity the ringmaster is also a clown in my opinion!

Jules. There is nothing to stop you opening a thread that isn't political. Do you have a missing cat, or have you found one, or is there a pesky pothole in Putney that's pi$$ing you off? The possibilities are endless. I look forward to your first local-inspired thread.

Sorry but if we had a competent Government there wouldn’t be.  Unfortunately politics affects all our lives in Putney, WFA, education, health even trying to get on a train provided they are not on strike next week!
