Gray is apparently now the PM's 'envoy for the nations and the regions'.Is this a new role ?Jobs for the girls ?!If it is,  a salary of £133,000 a year seems very generous.The title gives the impression she will be working alongside, perhaps even supervising Fleur Anderson, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Northern Ireland with a salary I understand to be in the region of just over £100,000 a year !If the 'black hole' is as deep as the Chancellor claims, can the country afford both  !

And to add to Keir Starmer's embarrassment it seems that Labour's flagship policy of imposing VAT on independent schools is likely to be delayed because of the threat of administrative chaos, teacher redundancies and pressure on the state sector, not to mention a legal challenge by the parents of children with special needs.
