The other conclusion one could draw is that there were insufficient people at Fulham FC or Harrods prepared to risk their jobs to give corroborating evidence to the police in order for them to build  sufficiently robust case for the DPP.

Obviously FFC officials were sufficiently perceptive and perspicacious to be aware of their Chairman's predilections in order to fulfil their major objective of protecting their own staff.Difficult for them to make public announcements to protect the wider public without forthcoming third party evidence as the BBC found with regard to Harris, Saville and Hall, who for reasons that escape me, were seen to be in practice 'financial' assets to the Corporation.And then of course we have 'national treasure' Huw ("It's all my father's fault') Edwards.Bit slow off the mark weren't they ?Even gave him a pay rise when many in the organisation knew what he was up to. What steps did the BBC take in these cases even when children were involved ?That being said Fayed was obviously a person of questionable  attitudes financially and morally.

Interesting that some at Fulham F C knew Mr Fayed "liked young blonde girls". It's always his 'beloved' Arsenal.When is he going to grow up ?For most, 'beloved' is applied to a person or even animal that provides love or comfort, or to a meaningful religious or philosophical belief that does likewise.To him it refers to a bunch of overhyped and overpaid 'men' that run around kicking a ball, managed by a bad-tempered Spaniard whose lack of empathy and  disposition are such that would cause you to change seats if he sat next to you on a bus. I have here to make a disclosure.I like most sports and support and get pleasure from watching Fulham.Hence I  was very pleased yesterday when they beat Newcastle, owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, with two of the goals scored by Arsenal rejects.I find it very enjoyable going to Craven Cottage for a Guinness and a packet of 'Ready Salted' before the game and (usually !) the excitement and perhaps euphoria seen from the Johnny Haynes stand, of the match itself and the result. But I think I am adult enough not to consider Fulham  'beloved'.And it speaks volumes about his maturity that a Labour Prime Minister should do so regarding the team he supports.Courtesy of course of Mr Alli; his and other members of his Cabinet's official hospitality and clothing sponsor.

Starmer is shameless to take these freebies which if anyone was in any doubt about the character of our PM shows his true colours whilst cancelling the WFA.  Man of the people definitely not.  All gifts given to a politican should be taxed, all donations to a political party should be made direct to the party for purely party political purposes.

"properly registered gifts"But are the gifts proper?Why should a waitress be taxed on tips but gifts to politicians be tax free?I think you have proved my last point in my previous post.The state of the country is largely due to the poor standards that the higher classes hold IMO.

So the properly registered gifts of support are now being considered worse than the unregistered lending of homes and planes, giving of contracts etc.  What a joke!

It's a class thing.Gifts I believe are not taxable however tips are.Obviously there is a difference between personal gifts and gifts people are receiving because of their position in paid employment.No one would be gifting these if they were not the paid opposition or holding government positions or MPs.I do not think that the higher classes views of being blind to their corruption whilst at the same time grandstanding on petty corruption is unique to the UK however.

Are these gifts taxable as unearned income? Then if not fill the black hole by making them so.I pay tax on my.income and then buy my football tickets, clothes and specs out of what's left ie after tax  the same rules should apply.

There's probably a case for giving MPs a uniform.This could be openly sponsored just like  in football with the money going to the public purse.
