Sainsbury's Putney

Got my shopping about 1pm today, went to cig counter to pay about 5 in front of me, when it was my turn the young lady serving, who's been there years, said cig or lottery ticket. I said no, she then told me to do it myself at self checkout I said no, I'm not doing your job for you, I've worked years.  She then said your not doing my job, I said yes I am if I serve myself, I don't get paid. So she started shouting well your have to soon when everything changes. I said I won't I'll get it delivered. With that the woman Manager told her to get off the till. She said no I'll continue serving. So I said I don't want you serving me. The Manager sent her upstairs to the office. Then the Manager sat me near the door and asked me my name, and exactly what she said to me. I told her, I said I had complained about the grey haired one with glasses before Christmas because she didn't want anybody being served, wanted you to go to self checkout. I told the Manager I know the 2 of them are friends and she said she knows, The manager said would I like her to contact head office for me, I said it was up to her.  So perhaps the more who refuse to serve themselves for a while the better.

Some companies have mystery shoppers that check on how staff treat customers.

The tall Security Guard always talks to me, last week he said Sainsbury's is in a state and about the lift.  Do the staff not realize our money is keeping them in a job.

Werter Sainsbury is a shambles. The lift has been out of action for months, which is tough on disabled shoppers who have to negotiate stairs. The cig checkout is the only one available most of the time. The plight of shoppers with eyesight problems seems to be ignored which of course is totally outrageous. Head office is in London. Someone should call past, pose as a shopper, and experience what is being perpetrated in the chain's name.

With all the so called changes they want to do. What about disabled  people or blind people how are they meant to serve themselves. I know some people like to rush in and out and serve themselves but other regular customers in there all the time don't. If you do smoke or want a lottery ticket are they then going to refuse the rest of the shopping you have in your basket.

The lady was told by the Manager you do not talk to customers like that. I was really glad the Manager heard most of her conversation.
