Bystander Training, 23 Sept, 7.30pm Community Church Werter Rd
Have you witnessed someone in public behaving in way that bothers you, and wondered what you could do to diffuse the situation? We often want to help and intervene when we see something happening, but we can worry about doing the wrong thing or making the situation worse. The Putney Society has organised a meeting, which will be run by Richmond and Wandsworth Councils, who are delivering Bystander Training teaching us how we can start a conversation on how we can become active bystanders in our communities whilst putting safety first. During this session, we will talk through the psychology of group behaviour, explore some of the different bystander interventions and discuss how they can be applied in different scenarios. This session will be delivered by Kira Evans from the Community Safety Team at Richmond and Wandsworth Councils. 7.30pm at the Community Church, Werter Rd, opposite Sainsbury's.Refreshments and chat will be available afterwards. There is disabled access.
