Heating allowances for MPs

We know they all claim for heating  rent, mortgages etc on 2nd homes 'required' to be London based MPs.Easy solution. Stop all those subsidies and convert all the empty govt office space, vacated by the work from home brigade,into small bedsit type accomodation.Will require a little bit of moving around to re locate staff into wholly office space and leave other buildings empty, a little capital outlay and hey presto significant savings.Ah no, then it affects them and their gravy train  so cant be doing that.

He was reported as supporting it his idea or not:“jump in the queue to get housing to avoid them reoffending again.” A noble policy except for the fact there is a shortage of social housing following decades of red and blue Thatcher governments at a time when the population has grown by millions.Perhaps turning Wandsworth prison into gated secure apartments will be next idea!

That's not Khan's idea, I  think there's some research that indicates that. Some reoffenders without a home say it's a way to get back into a warm, safer place with regular meals ...

Now Sadiq Khan wants to give priority to released prisoners, by giving them Council Properties in front of everybody else, because he thinks if they have somewhere to live they wont commit anymore crimes. What a load of =====.

Empathy appears in short supply in the UK.I think someone once said that there is no such thing as society.If they will bomb and kill other people outside the UK without so much of a second thought why would they care about the elderly here or children for that matter?Winter fuel or Covid - perhaps the outcomes are the policy?Shocking but also a possibility unfortunately.

All energy costs should be automatically stopped for MPs as a bare minimum.  They earn a decent salary over £90k in comparison to pensioners on under £12,000 pa.What staggers me is where do they think their electorate are going to fund the extra outgoings.  It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realise this will not lead to growth.  None of this was in the manifesto and Labour should be totally ashamed.

'We know they all claim for heating  rent, mortgages etc on 2nd homes 'required' to be London based MPs'.If they need two 'homes' and we are subsidising their mortgages, perhaps we should get a slice of the capital gain they are bound to make when they sell one.And when they go to their constituencies which I suspect is rarely, they could always stay in a Premier Inn, Holiday Inn, a Travelodge or Ibis.Smart booking would probably mean they could get a room for less than £50 a night - heating included !
