Rubbish 2.0

Since switch to food bins, long delays over collection and erratic timings. Orange bags left lying across front gate until 11 am, smelly food bin emptied later. Old black bin left lying in road, with lid flung onto top of roses in our garden. A proper mess. Why can't there be coordination? Will it ever "settle down"?

We are expecting the hottest day of the year today.  If you can always keep your outside food waste somewhere cool or in the shade during the days before your collection if you can.  You do then have to remember to then put it out where it's visible for collection.  Use the compostable bags especially for smelly food waste.  BTW I've read that in the US some people freeze wrapped seafood heads and tails etc and then add them to the bin just before collection to reduce that most smelliest of food smells!!!We all adjust our routines according to the circumstances.  Good luck.

We have been being told for very many years now that what we call 'rubbish' or 'waste' needs to to be seen as 'resources'!  There is also no 'away' in throw it away.  It is someone else's backyard and surprise surprise nobody else wants it in their backyard!  Different vehicles, different crews (often more noticeable in school holidays and public holidays) and altered routes can take a long time to bed in.  There can also be difficulties now with the employment and retention of operatives.  It can be problematical for both the provider of the service as well the user.  Change can be difficult to get used to but it's just part of life!We find it much better to have a small sometimes smelly food waste bin than a large dustbin and dripping smelly bin bags.  It has showed us where to be more careful with our buying and storing and cooking of fresh food ie organisation to make less waste and save money and resources.  We wouldn't ever want to go back and still can't understand how it took Wandsworth so long to do it!!

Of course the votes weren't lost,  just temporarily misplaced. The procedures seem to be in place to identify and allow notification of the error.

I’ve told you all. This is only the start of itLabour council . What was anyone expectingLost votes, only 6,000 of them ! Ha ha Missing bin collections  Let’s keep a list together and review it.I’m surprised it didn’t all happen quicker to be honest.
