1) I am not particularly impressed that the UN regards Taiwan as part of China. The point is that the vast majority if the 23 million population of Taiwan don't. And who can blame them? Why would any citizen of a democratic state wish to be a citizen of China, a country with no regard for human rights? Would you like to live in China, Ed? If not, why would you condemn the Taiwanese to lose their freedom?2) Your statistic of Ukrainians dying in a ratio of 10:1 makes no sense as it stands. If you are suggesting that 10 Ukrainians are dying for every Russian killed, that is absurd. Western analysts have estimated that Russian losses have been far greater than those of the Ukrainians, mainly because the Russians are mainly attacking while the Ukrainians are defending. It has been suggested that the Russisns lost 1000 killed or wounded every day in May alone, making their total losses over 300k since the start of the invasion.3) Finland, having pursued a policy of neutrality since World War Two, recently joined Nato, not because of encouragement from Ursula von der Leyen, but out of fear of a Russian invasion given what happened to Ukraine.
