'It is amazing how some people only see one half of the truth, normally the half they politically side with, and are blind to any wrong doing by their political preference.'Very true. Unfortunately, Ed, I think this also applies to you as regards Ukraine:1) Yes, the Americans told Gorbachev in 1990 that NATO would not expand eastwards, but in 1994 Russia agreed to respect Ukraine's borders.2) Yes, America supported the Maidan demonstrators in 2014 who wanted closer ties with the West, but Russia encouraged President Yanukovych to arrest them.3) Yes, Lebedev's father was in the KGB, but he himself is a British citizen, who went to school in this country, and under his ownership the 'Evening Standard criticised the invasion of Ukraine.4) Yes, Jeremy Corbyn, as far as we know, has never accepted money from Russia, but he chose to accept Putin's word against that of the Security Services that Russia was not responsible for poisoning the Skripals with Novichok.5) Yes, Ukraine, in attempting to establish Ukrainian as the national language, has discriminated against Russian speakers, but in the Soviet era Ukrainian speakers suffered discrimination and since the invasion Putin has imposed a russification of the annexed territories.Balance is required on both sides of the argument.
