Dog Owners - please read some v ill dogs after walks on Comon and in Beverley Brook

Our under 2 y/o Labrador became very ill on 6th June after her usual walk on Putney Common Rocks Lane playing fields and dips in Beverley BrookStarted vomiting that evening by Saturday there were blood clots in her diahorrea  - she was then hospitalised on Saturday evening and has been there ever since of drips and even flat lines but resuscitated herself (true fighter) The 6y:o dog with us was v unwell for 3 days and today I have heard a 4y/o lab is showing very similar symptoms to our IslaTest have failed to ID the cause - they believe viral or bacterial not toxins and her immune system is attacking itself - sadly our insurance does not cover this.Please be careful with your dog(s) and if they start to be unwell take it seriously. I have flagged to the Rangers Office - they are now aware.

I'm not a dog owner but saw a family dog drinking dirty green water in the garden and also water from the paddling pool despite there being fresh water in her bowl.  She's definitely not as fussy as we are about what she drinks!There was a post recently concerning Beverley Brook and all our rivers and water courses (and the seas) are now polluted by one thing or another.  So beware.  I hope the dogs recover.

Thank you Tim - luckily and with a lot of amazing care from Streatham Hill Veterinary Hospital  Isla is home - but I understand there are 4 equally ill dogs at Chalker's Corner Veterinary Hospital.  My thoughts are with them and their owners
