Mr Brigo'Aren't they supposed to be the good guys'?In the context of the current conflict, is that not indisputable ?And do you doubt this fact and also doubt the fact they are trying to act as such under extreme circumstances ?Israel was invaded by Palestinians who raped and murdered women and children and still hold many as hostages.Like any country would have done, Israel responded and took a view, rightly I believe, that Hamas the terrorist Palestinian group that took the lead in these atrocities would do so again and again unless it and its members were obliterated. Then of course matters do get 'messy' for Hamas merges into the civilian population (brave blokes) and so civilians are caught up in the fighting.Vast numbers of Palestinian civilians are claimed to have been killed but these are figures put out by Hamas propaganda organisations.I doubt if anyone really knows the truth but the percentage of males killed would be interesting for one would expect it to be much higher than for women and children if these males are acting honourably. But ironically, by adopting the tactics I describe above with its obvious dire and regrettable consequences for the innocents, Hamas and the Palestinians begins to gain sympathy on the world stage !They may be cowards when it comes to fighting but their PR skills are well honed. But of course in reality this is NOT a conflict between Israel and Palestine but one between Israel and Iran that wishes to destroy it.Israel is also threatened by Syria and from the north by Iranian backed Hezbollah that has encroached into Israel as well as regularly firing rockets and drones onto its territory. Have you read the reports of the threats from Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah who warned that in the event of a broader war, “there will be no place safe from our missiles and our drones” in Israel. He also threatened Cyprus, accusing it of allowing Israel to use its airports and bases for military exercises. So Mr Brigo, cut Israel some slack; no more snide comments and decide whose side you are on in their fight for survival.
