I do hope ex subpostmistress, Yvonne Tracey, is still going to stand against Ed Davey at the general election.  If she does, I hope the voters of Kingston & Surbiton choose her as their MP.

We are approaching the SEVENTH anniversary of the Grenfell fire.  The following was written nearly a year ago and shows how much action is still outstanding:https://cedrec.com/r/news/0623-six-years-since-grenfell-what-has-changedIf it had been a plane crash there would have been a much faster investigation.  So much just gets kicked on down the line or under the carpet. We should be looking at other countries to see how they deal with these things because there must be better ways and although Inquiries are good to have they just take too long - and give more likelihood and excuse for memory lapses.

Gosh we have found another thing we agree on Richard!What it needed is for corporate and criminal justice to take place first and then the Inquiry .  An Inquiry should be about preventing a future occurrence.  That would never work for all the lawyers involved would it?

And, like the Grenfell Inquiry and countless others (Windrush  Hillsborough, the infected blood scandal, to add in only 3), these inquiries  though important in themselves, are so often used deliberately, I think, by governments to delay and delay and delay, until real justice is impossible.

Absolutely agree.  Having watched the trauma that the postmasters went through his constant claim that he didn’t know or was lied to is as weak as Vennells.  However this Inquiry is back to front.  Vennells, Davy and many others should be investigated by the police and charged if crimes are found. This Inquiry has become like a public hanging l am not comfortable with.
