Andy, that’s not the point I am making.
When you make a comment, whatever it might be, ie for, against or general, you have to leave your name and some details of where you live. After a while these comments disappear off the Council website. Unless you have a particular interest in a planning application, you are unlikely to be looking at the Council website everyday and noting people’s names and addresses.
On PutneySW15 front page, we are given the names and road names of people who objected. Were they asked if they minded? Would they mind if this eg became a story of national interest and people commented on MailOnline. In the case of the Putney pop star planning application, some of the comments by the general public (fans maybe) weren’t very nice to the resident whose name became public, if I remember correctly.
Unlike the Council website, the names of the residents remain on the net to see forever. If I were living on my own, I would be very unhappy at seeing my name and street name out there like this, without my permission. Also, Is it only happening to Wandsworth residents?
