Re: the 2 hospitals mentioned, my husband had a problem which involved going to Moorfields at St George’s and he thought it was all marvellous. When my mum had cataracts, they were treated at Guy’s/St Thomas’ and I was amazed that she didn’t need glasses again, even for reading.
I always thought that for laser surgery for shortsightedness you had to go privately. About 20 years ago, I contacted Moorfields Private and they say to have laser surgery you need your eyesight prescription to remain the same for 2 years. For various reasons, I didn’t proceed at that time.
Anyway, I’m getting a bit fed up with my eyesight. I think I will get my eyes tested again and see what they say at the opticians.
