It would seem the Trump campaign is now touting fake AI images composed showing him surrounded by supportive afro-americans complete with lying captions - what the betting our own general election becomes tainted with fake news/imagery/sound bites et.al. What price democracy?

No, the unknown does not frighten me.What does frighten me is the incorrect/criminal use of AI.The uncanny impersonation of people leaves me cold.

I think AI will be like any other technology: it can be used either for good or bad. Deep fake videos are worrying but medical uses will be beneficial; for example, identifying cancers at an early stage (just caught the tail end of a R4 programme discussing that). It's early days so far - is it the unknown that's frightening? 🙂

I think the AI isn't particularly relevant, I know people who could do that with Photoshop, and not risk one of the hands being back-to-front! But, I agree, the fraudulent intent is worrying.
