Did recent changes on Wandsworth Bridge reduce its capacity?

Does anybody know whether or not the recent changes made to Wandsworth Bridge have reduced its capacity for handling traffic?I ask because it has just been announced that Albert Bridge will have a weight restriction which means lorries will be required to cross upriver, some would use Wandsworth but some may choose Putney bridge further adding to the chronic congestion in the area.

You are both correct but the weight restrictions up until now have been enforced by the width restriction. Now the council has enstalled ANPR enforcement cameras which will mean compliance will increase and the vehicles will have to go elsewhere.

Albert Bridge has been restricted to 3 tonnes for many years
