Take Bowie by Sally Adams https://flic.kr/p/2pbWyigThls Book Bench was commisstoned by Your Bromley BID to celebrate the legendary artlst David Bowie who lived in Bromiey as a chlld and attended school In the town. The bench remembers Dauld Bowle's lconic llghtning bolt make-up made famous on the cover of his sixth album, 'Aladdin Sane' ln 1973There are ten Book Benches located In Bromley and the trall has been funded by Your Bromley, the business Improvement district for the town centre, to celebrate art and the cultural heritage of Bromley.

Thanks for this Michael.  I don’t know whether Bromley has done much in the past to honour David Bowie, but this is a step in the right direction.  Liverpool gets lots of visitors because of the Beatles and, as someone who has never been to Bromley, I would visit if I thought there was anything connected with David Bowie worth visiting. Just a trip down Memory Lane, we have been to hundreds of gigs, but the greatest remains David Bowie as Ziggy Stardust 1973, Birmingham Town Hall.
