Very good points, Phillippa, I totally agree with you.

https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/saving/article-12528391/More-banking-hubs-open-end-year-Britain-falling-short.htmlThe rollout unfortunately seems to be taking a lot longer than hoped. So stick together and be prepared to do some lobbying to get a good solution.

They are shutting them all over. You need to get in touch with your MP to make sure that the Banks get together to offer a Banking Hub as they have done elsewhere in the country if you can't persuade them that enough of you use your bank often enough to keep it.It is also getting very difficult to find somewhere to post a small parcel. Soon I suspect it will be impossible and children - well we all will - miss out on getting the surprise of an unexpected - and pleasant - present in the post. It now seems to cost more to send a child a book in the post than the book itself costs and if you order something to be sent direct then you don't get to put your personally handwritten card/note inside it with a message. A printed one is just not the same!Every so often I do now get something sent direct to the recipient but it has lost its cachet. I did this particularly during the pandemic for children's books when I didn't see them but there is a second hand bookshop that does this too. (And is also very good for searching for childhood books you've lost.) However I do prefer to be able to really look at and choose by looking through a book first before I buy and send it.
Agree, why are they shutting them in Putney. Nationwide you have to go to Wandsworth or Hammersmith. Or can ring and discuss on the phone. Awkward for older people with money in cash books when they can't get money out. Heard of a lady when the virus was on couldn't get her money because branches were shut.

another sad loss for the High St. Leaves NatWest and Metro. Considering the long list we used to have from HSBC, Santander, Halifax, Barclays, Nationwide it's posing real problems for people who want a physical place to bank.
