I second the Regenerate Rise and Trinity Hospice. Both are local charities which we should be supporting. The latter is one that has huge impact on all Wandsworth residents, no matter what age, when they have a terminal or end of life prognosis. They're only given a little funding by central government, so rely on donations from the public to survive. I was quite shocked at how involved they are, and how much we depended on them when we needed them. THey are superb and need our support. Regenerate Rise are planning to build a couple more storeys on the Platt Centre to put in 10 ensuite rooms to enable those who need care after discharge from hospital get the care and rehab needed before they go home. There's a huge shortage of these sorts of beds in the Borough. You may be lucky enough to get a bed at Queen Mary's Rehab unit, but that's being used more and more as an interim measure when people are ready for discharge from hospital but can't go home yet as they either don't have anyone there and need a care plan in place first, or need a little bit of physio first. Mo Smith at the Platt Centre plans to have onsite physios and integration with those who use the centre. Another very worthwhile local charity that often gets overlooked.
