Richard, I'm not stupid because anybody like myself knows the footpath floods and as a kid it would run up White Hart Lane as well. That's why they built the higher wall to stop the houses opposite flooding. No they obviously couldn't build the walkway any higher as the base of the bridge is in the way. So why waste money in the first place. Every two weeks you get a high tide. Sometimes you have to wait to get under Hammersmith Bridge, if a high tide, because you can't get your boat under until the tide goes down. How do you know do you sit and wait for it. It will happen a lot more, even by the White Hart pub the path floods regularly.
