The Railway Pub

Has anybody been in the Pub since it has reopened, looked at the prices of drinks and meals looks rather expensive. Shame not gone back to Wetherspoons.

We had a lunch at the Railway last week. Food ok, but nothing special. Staff still learning the ropes I'd say, but server we had was very sweet. Think they're still finding their feet. It's a huge venue - they have put in a full ceiling so there's no balcony open to the first floor. Interesting to have a look around. Just a shame they got rid of all the old Putney Railway pictures that used to be there - there are plenty of nice pictures up, but none that are relevant to the site any more. Not had a Sunday lunch though

Barbara. They do have a Sunday lunch and most of the options are meat with one veggie option (which after checking with the kitchen was also vegan). Michael, do the Arab Boy do a Sunday Lunch, or just your meat free meals. Only I'm getting a bit lazy in my old age.

Not yet. I was thinking of trying it but was a bit put off a couple of Sundays ago when walking back with my wife and friend and the friends dog after a nice dinner at the Arab Boy a young chap outside the railway tried to engage me in a conversation. He seemed, shall we say, slightly enebriated and I couldn't understand what he said. He wasn't a nuisance or threatening in any way but I hope that's an exception rather than the rule in the way their customers behave … But I suppose I should try it sometime ...
