The real reason for the recent floods

Words of wisdom (as if!) from the staggeringly incompetent and utterly useless Therese Coffey,: the recent, terrible floods were caused by .... the wrong kind of rain!

I should think they have seen enough of water, they do not want to collect, it they want to get rid of it. A poor young lady of 18 with terminal cancer who's home was flooded has had to be moved to a Hotel with her family and all live in one room. Her father was showing their home this morning on the News.

There was a project some time ago to put the wiggles back into a river.  In the past waterways have been straightened for convenience but this allows water to travel faster whereas the wiggles slow it down.Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems :  SuDs are important.Hotter weather = heavier and more sudden downfalls of rain but that could be followed by a drought - so worth collecting some if you can.  Weather has no national borders!

Perhaps the remain/rejoin pressure group "BEST FOR BRITAIN" could start by referencing the UK and not Britain!It was this terminology that has caused so much trouble.

It's like when they build estates on flood plains and they get ..  flooded; perhaps there's a reason they're called flood plains. But it is sad for the people whose homes are wrecked :-(

Well, Sue, I did wonder if the winds from the east might, possibly, be the result of encouragement by the EU in revenge for Brexit...

My goodness, that is unbelievable!!!And I thought that everybody knew that areas of the UK particularly vulnerable to flooding include Cornwall (west coast) and, in the east coast, particularly Peterboroug, Hull, and Great Yarmouth as well as Kent and Sussex coastal areas.
