Ed, I believe her protests did start at home and most of them have been I'm Sweden; her regular Friday "Skolstrejk för klimatet". However, given that the oil industry works on a global basis it doesn't seem unreasonable that climate protesters should as well and provide support or advice to protesters in other countries. Thunberg is Swedish not Norwegian so I'm not sure outside of Sweden there's any reason for her to protest in Norway rather than the UK, is there? (Particularly, as I say the meeting was in London.)I don't think we can hold Thunberg responsible for Putin starting a war in Ukraine which, unfortunately, is likely to divert a lot of western finance into defence, and protesting against what was likely Russian action to destroy the pipelines isn't likely to be useful - actually, there destruction might highlight the need for solar and wind energy to avoid dependence on undemocratic oil states such as Russia and Saudi Arabia? Remember, Thunberg is just trying to bring g global warming and the inaction of governments to everyone's attention, isn't she?
