Hypocrites!

Isn't it fascinating that those people (and there've been quite a few on here) who have been fulminating about what are, in the scale of things, pretty minor holdups caused by Just Stop Oil, XR etc, wanting to call down the full force of the law on such demonstrations, have been strangely quiet over the sheer brute vandalism of the self-styled Blade Runners in destroying/damaging ULEZ cameras, signs and vans. I wonder why that is?

Just to add a corollary to my last post: what intelligent life form would destroy its world by intiating warming that might terminate in a runaway greenhouse affect or poison the planet and itself with pollution ...

I was sitting in the planetarium show at the National Space Centre earlier and the usual question came up: is their only intelligent life on on earth or does it exist elsewhere in the universe on one of the billions of planets that we can probably infer are out there?Looking at this thread I've come to the conclusion there probably isn't intelligent life on earth so let's hope it does exists somewhere else in the universe LOL :-)Still, statistics suggest it possible does...

I think he was more worried about his cults losing their monopoly on the use of vandalism and associated publicity.We could see an escalation as XR/JSO are now in competition (the wrong kind) for news coverage.It takes years to build back a sense of public ownership. It will be decades before we can even get back to where we were never mind where we should be.Are we still missing Richard condemning all vandalism??

Oddly Roger Hallam who set up the XR/JSO cults had some different views regarding ULEZ. But people were dying not getting to hospital. Also what right did they have to try and destroy paintings. The people destroying the cameras, are stopping the thieves who are stealing from ordinary people.

My view is that the middle class layabouts with time on their hands who stop people getting to work under the pretence of saving the planet are sanctimonious prigs. And those like Emma Thompson, who flew 5000 miles from LA to join the XR activists blocking Waterloo Bridge so as to highlight 'disastrous inaction' on the climate, are ridiculous hypocrites.

I don't think that XR ran away much, did they? Braver, I guess. Never mind, I assume that undercover police will be infiltrating the ULEZ vandals, perhaps even forming sexual relationships with them (awful thought that). Of course, it may be rather difficult for the police to actually go undercover in a extreme rightwing outfit. Not their usual preference, I'd bet. And so far two people have been arrested? Wow!

Unless I'm mistaken we are still waiting for Richard to condem criminal damage and vandalism by whoever carries it out.Years of promoting vandalism with the excuse that it attracts publicly therefore is justified was always going to lead down this route. Sadly we are now at the point I feared. Those people that excused vandalism have to take some responsibility IMO. XR/JSO have normalized it, made it acceptable, justifiable even marketable!I say again and will keep saying: you can not have a green city with high crime and high levels of vandalism, but obviously some on here disagree.We now have police resources watching cameras and even cameras watching cameras as people's bicycles get stolen routinely and while the levels of crime on public transport are shocking!

And why do think that is Richard?  I have no doubt the full force of the law will be brought on those committing the ULEZ camera crimes however many saw the hyprocracy of the XR and Just Stop Oil crew.  Stopping people going about their daily business doesn’t garner favour with Joe public which is clearly why they have ceased.You and they will have to find another cause to march on.
