Poor Man

I'm sure anybody who has lived in Putney years will have seen this man I think he used to sleep near the scout Hall in Oxford Rd. He has a hat on and a dark grey coat. I felt so sorry for him today, I saw him in Werter rd, as I came out of Sainsbury's. I was getting in my other half's van, I had to get out and give him something for food. His face was really thin and he didn't look well, or washed. He is a quiet man, I don't see him talking to anybody. I think he really needs help now he is getting older. I hope perhaps anybody else who knows who I mean might feel a bit generous.

Simon, I saw him again yesterday in the High Street, that's a couple of times now. I wonder if he has started using Werter Rd, Sainsbury's. Hope he has washing facilities somewhere.  But it doesn't look like it.

Often seen clutching a newspaper outside East Putney tube station. He does look worse for wear of late, but he seems independent. I have seen him in Rosy Lea having some food and I hope they discount his food or even give it for free.

Rene, thank you I am glad somebody knows who I mean. Surely the Social or somebody could help, but perhaps he doesn't want help, just a bit of food now and again.

I know who you mean, I think he is called Dave.  He was sleeping in a doorway in Oakhill road for a number of years but not sure where is sleeping now.  We tried to give him a blanket one winter but he politely declined.  I do wonder about him, he seems shy and never begs or asks for anything, sometimes he has bouts of random shouting/swearing (at no one in particular).  He often shops in the Sainsbury's at East Putney, if I see him in the shop I will pay for his food.  Don't know what can be done about him.  He does look very thin and like he needs help.

Also he has been wearing the same clothes for years, I would rather give to him  who you know is local. Not those trying it on.
