Tesla

Cars exploding, wouldn't want to take one on a Ferry. Everything going out of fashion as soon as it's started. Are they now going to ban Electric Cars, Oh No, is it Petrol again or Diesel.  Do they sit and throw a coin.

Interesting, Ed, however this Wikipedia article suggests there may also be safety concerns with blade batteries: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blade_battery I must admit I don't know enough to judge and it is just two examples.What was raised at a security seminar I attended about EVs and autonomous vehicles was that modern electric cars are essentially a computer plus an electric motor sitting on a large battery and four wheels. Come 2930 it's likely the only way of supporting the demand for EVs when purchase of ICE cars is banned in the UK will be to import cars from China. So it's probable that all data collected while driving will be sent to and remote updates to software received from the manufacturers in China. Imagine the scenario where a "disable" command is issued to all the cars imported from China :-)

Tesla are a premium brand IMO. Possibly over priced considering the build quality some commentators say.I personally would not buy one but I would consider a sub £10K BYD EV.

EV, a second hand car battery if it went would be very expensive to replace.

EV battery technology is improving all the time. BYD's blade technology is very safe.Hence new sub £10K EV cars are likely to appear in the UK within a year or so (already in Asia & Australia also I think).This should drive second hand EV prices down further - for cars that is. The second hand value of non-EV's may collapse as a result as EV require less maintenance.Another reason why ULEZ expansion should be targeted at high use not just high polluting vehicles.

All traffic and the amount of it  is a problem for all people - drivers or not.  I can and I do drive occasionally but try and do walk and use public transport much more.  We should all be campaigning for better cleaner accessible public transport and infrastructure for ALL people needing and wanting to travel.

Missed the point again, but then you don't have a car got rid of yours years ago. Let people with the problem of cars, deal with their own problems.
