Sainsbury's

Went into Sainsbury's yesterday lunchtime nobody on the tills, only on cigarette till. I waited there and a man was standing behind me, he asked if he could go in front of me as he was in a hurry, didn't really like the look of him, so said yes.  He asked for 3 pks of cigs, when he used his card it didn't have enough on it, so he said 2 pks, still didn't work, so he said 1 pk still didn't work with that the lady on the till said where are the cigarettes, lucky they were still on the counter, not in his pocket, because with that he ran. Then the till froze as the lady had to keep deleting the purchase.  That's why you need more staff on tills it's not right one person has to deal with this situation.  Also obviously might not have even been his card.

Rang up this morning out of curiosity and spoke to a Manager who had only been there 2 weeks. Obviously said she didn't know anything about Sainsbury's closing down. Waited at a till lunchtime so somebody had to come and serve me and so did 2 other people.  They were shouting for a Manager, who eventually came, I told him about the incident the other day a man trying to buy cigarettes, I said you need somebody on the till he said, we can't have staff sitting about doing nothing. He also said we are not shutting down, might close for a few days for a refurb.

Alan, agree, prefer Richmond Sainsbury's, Lower Mortlake Rd. Very large car park, go at weekends to do a large shop.  To much hassle Wandsworth, also we liked Townmead Rd, but stopped when Covid.  Now I think a problem with roads being cut off, camera's etc,

I think the site is earmarked on the Local Plan for redevelopment.  It'd be a real shame because having a local supermarket with parking is so useful.  Wandsworth Sainsbury's is lovely but driving there adds to traffic.

Hope not, only go in Waitrose now and again. Don't really like Lidl, they don't always have anybody on tills. I've walked out of there and left shopping on till because I was told to do it myself.

Something seriously wrong with management in Werther Road Saisbury. Feels like a shop heading for closure.
