Remembering the pirates

It was this day in 1967 when the marine offences act came into force, which effectively closed down all but one of the British pirate radio stations. from 4pm to 6 today we are remembering those pirates and the day that the pirate music died on kcfm Putney kcfm.liveJoin us!

Sorry, only just noticed this. That was the end of an era for teenagers in the 1960s - although interesting how Radio Caroline has kept reincarnating itself. Then a couple of years later RNI came along and started broadcasting in English from the Dutch coast - and Radio Luxembourg and (briefly) Radio Monte Carlo broadcasting at night to compete with Radio 1 … interesting times :-)
