I agree, Michael.I also admit I have never seen a Red Route traffic warden and the Red Routes have, as far as I remember, been monitored by cameras...It all seems extremely odd to me!If it is true that the Home Secretary has not approved any new cameras or devices since 2000, does that mean that all cameras installed since then have to be deactivated?

I think only TfL is responsible for policing Red Routes. Saw a Wandsworth parking warden in Deodar Road when walking to the Rocket this Sunday afternoon:-)

That may be the case but you do not see many traffic wardens about.  Of course there are some, but not that many.Also, there is a distinction between red routes (TfL roads) and other "Council" roads.Would Council traffic wardens be allowed to check cars parked on red route parking bays?

Looks like it only applies to parking fines where a warden needs to check whether you had a legitimate reason to be stopped.
