Traffic not so bad since Wandsworth Bridge closed

Is it just me? I haven't noticed traffic in the area being that much worse since Wandsworth Bridge has closed (ie it's gone from bad to still bad rather than appreciably worse).The one exception is crossing Putney Bridge either way but this doesn't seem to have washed back to cause more congestion.

I haven't been north of the river since the closure so can't comment on New Kings Road.The traffic certainly wasn't great today on the High Street and Putney Bridge Road but I would characterise the level as being a bad day under normal circumstances rather than an unprecedented level of congestion. I'm not so optimistic this will hold when the work is taking place when the schools are back.

School holidays have an enormous bearing on this supposedly "light traffic".

Peter, The traffic along the Lower Richmond Road is definitely heavier from 7.30am onwards. The buses (22, 378, 485, 265) are all delayed going into town, and coming back. And this is at a time when many people are on holiday. I think you are being overly optimistic. Nick
