Painting by Gerda Wegener (née Gerda Marie Fredrikke Gottlieb, 1886-1940): LILI DÉGUISÉE 《CHEVALIER À LA ROSE》1921                     https://flic.kr/p/2owLA96 If one listens to the Christian fundamentalists and extreme right wing politicians you'd think that gender fluidity was a recent innovation by "liberals" to undermine society. However, as the pictures at this Parisian exhibition with examples from the 1920s showed, it's always been a part of  life and society seems to have survived - it's possibly the action of the extremists and fundamentalists are the real threat to us?
Interesting pictures (at a Museum  of Luxembourg exihibition, April 2023) of people categorised as third gender by Gerda Wegener of her trans husband, Lili, as himself and as a Rosenkavalier (feature in this image); and other pictures by Romaine Brooks (Beatrice Romain Goddard), of her lover and other  models.

I think that effeminate (or gay) men and butch (or masculine) women or tomboys in childhood have existed forever.Do you remember the term "the third sex has fun"?  I thought it came after the 1960s film "the Gay Deceivers".  Thereagain, at the time I was in my late childhood so was not too sure what they meant!!!!Many say it is the Age of Aquarius... I thought that was in the 60s too (musical Hair?),What I do not agree with is today's "transgender" issues and 12 year old girls or boys believe they are.  I may be wrong and may be unforgivably awful - but it seems to me to be a very "sick" fashion?
