Do we have in Putney a 'free' site for goods? Like Gumtree.

Re: BHS - are you sure that it isn't that they haven't updated their website? Although drivers since Brexit have been much harder to find and amongst others the supermarkets are always advertising on the backs of their vans.

Just looked at the Smugglers Way website and I see that they were working with Emmaus and Groundwork. These projects tend to have been set up as a result of grants. Many charity shops closed during the pandemic and did not reopen. No idea if it is still happening. Perhaps someone else knows? Your local Councillors?Emmaus South London used to collect.https://wrwa.gov.uk/reuse-workshop/https://emmaus.org.uk/slc/about-us/

Interesting to see the way the BHF website has been updated. They were given a grant years ago to kickstart second hand furniture reuse and were very successful because they offered a free scheduled collection. In fact they became so successful that they were able to become more choosy about what they took. Petit Miracles in Hammersmith have been very good at picking up small pieces of furniture needing some TLC for upcycling and the teaching of skills (often BHF rejects). Wasn't something like this happening at Smugglers Way? Older furniture pieces are often of better quality and longer lasting.I see that BHF are using a courier company and there seems to be a lot more use of collection points by courier companies now instead of to/from individual homes. This can reduce the traffic on the roads and having to stay in waiting for deliveries.
Many thanks Up until now I have always used The Heart Foundation but they are now so negative on the items that they accept, all in the name of covid, I've totally given up. Very disappointing

www.trashnothing.com is supposed to be an easier interface for Freecycle and Freegle. You can adjust the area in which you want to look for or to donate your items. People seem to find it easy to upload photos of their items.

There's Freecycle, covering Wandsworth, which is pretty well established:https://www.freecycle.org/town/WandsworthUKThere's also Trash Nothing, about which I know nothing but may be worth a try?https://trashnothing.com/beta/putney-barnes-wandsworth-free
