Rishi hard of hearing

The PM passed BJ's honours list, failed to attend the debate on the lying inquiry, and refrained from giving us his view on the report. At the Coronation he read (Colossians 1: 9-17) that Christ "hath delivered us from the power of darkness". Was he listening to what he read?

The idea that those that voted multiple times against the Iraq inquiry are now pure and only seek truth is absurd.Where was the opposition during covid anyway?Which reminds me Alastair Campbell is on Question Time tonight - no doubt preaching honour and truth - just no one mention the war(s)!Rishi, if you are a fan of the UK's flavour of democracy has done the right thing. He has kept his distance and let due process take its course. That's what's expected of him and other before him.Of course he could have done what was suggested and bring the UK's institutions further into disrepute. Is that what people really want? I suspect not. Most of the commentators just want their liar as PM in No. 10 (have they not all lied to the house??) and all will be wonderful in their eyes again!No serious proposals to change the system just swap actors and carry on as you were..

I'm not a particular fan of Penny Mordaunt, but Alice Thomson's assessment in the Times of her performance in the HoC debate on Monday is to the point:"This week I watched as she sat alone on the front benches during the debate on the privileges committee report into whether Boris Johnson had knowingly misled the House over partygate. Not a single minister joined her. She took all the flak while making it clear the former prime minister’s behaviour had been unacceptable and his resignation honours list was a debasement of the system. She must have known it wouldn’t enhance her reputation among grassroots Tory supporters but she still expressed contrition and regret for his abuse of parliament."
