A pity he doesn't do the job he was elected for or has he forgotten,  rather than trying to change the English vocabulary and my personal biological scientific gender. Definitely superflous to establishment.a military expression but so apt

My job coordinating peer review of astrophysics papers requires me to use non-gender-specific language all the time (to preserve full anonymity of reviewers and editors). Sometimes I have to rearrange a sentence to make it read more smoothly but mostly it's no problem

I wouldn't worry, Michael: it's just yet another episode in the endless silly culture war that some people seem to think is more important than issues like the climate emergency, the cost of living crisis and all the other really significant problems the country faces.

Ah, is this what your cryptic post refers to? https://www.lbc.co.uk/news/sadiq-khan-staff-urged-avoid-gender-specific-phrases/ Some of us have been trying to write non gender specific reports, specifications, user manuals, etc for decades because not all of our customers and other stakeholders belong to a single gender group. It's usual for organisations to have house rules on report writing, etc; the one produced by the economist is quite a good one: the-economist-style-guide.pdfI doubt Khan wrote it :-)
