Michael, I do agree that cows emit gases - they are ruminants after all.  But, above all, I would like to invite you to watch the 6th episode of Wild Isles on iPlayer.  You do not have to watch it all, I was interrupted and must watch the rest of it.But the bit I watch really made me fall in love with cows even more.

Cows actually burp more methane than they fart.  Methane is a greenhouse gas which is more damaging to the planet than CO2.  Experiments have been carried out to reduce the amount of methane cows create by feeding seaweed to them.  The UK Govt has been looking at this.It was a fire yesterday - the deadliest US farm barn blaze in history.https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/apr/13/texas-farm-fire-dead-cows#
