It strikes me that the pressure put on Joe to do something explosive by Frank Warren may have been partly responsible for his defeat. The way to defeat the huge guy he was up against was to use superior speed and mobility to wear him down in the first few roads by getting him to throw and miss punches. Instead Joe went toe to toe with him from round one. He got caught with a straight left in the first round and then another nasty one in the second. If he had avoided them Zhang was clearly tiring by round six and I'm sure Joe would have gone on to win.Hopefully he gets a rematch and fights the fight to win rather than impress the money men. He's more than capable of beating Zhang.

Such a shame.

I certainly did Barbara. My son and I were gutted. A shock result but he came up against a very good fighter. Unfortunately Joe kept getting caught by Zhen’s big powerful right hand. His eye swelled up so badly that he couldn’t counter himself.Very humble in defeat as expected. Am sure he will be back but it’s a big setback unfortunately.

That's a shame just googled, they had to stop the fight, because of the bad swelling on Joe's eye.

Nick, just wondered if you went to the fight, how did Joe get on.
Yes Nick, good luck to him, my friend knows his mum, he used to come in when I worked in R.Dyas, lovely looking young man. Always a lovely big smile.
