Went in there today first time for a while, looked at all the dresses as you just walk in the shop, there were so many different colours on the racks, I said to the young security guard,it looks like Oxfam in here. He agreed and started laughing.

I've found them good for bags and hats and shoes and some other things. They stock more unusual stuff than the regular high street shops.  I think they just used to have items that had been overstocked by shops or from shops that had closed down or last year's season. Some things don't seem to be the size that the sewn in label shows - or there's a problem with the sewing - so you do have to be careful.  Nowadays they say that they have some stock made especially for them.  I find that a bit disappointing since fast fashion is such a disaster for the planet so I hope they are not adding to the problem.Oh and thanks for the suggestion I've mended some knickers this weekend but still have someone else's trousers to patch.  And you know the lovely brightly patterned elastic off the top of a pair of mens trunks -  well that is now being reused as it fits around an overfilled envelope file brilliantly securing it from opening and spilling the contents.Yes TK Maxx is tiring as there is such a variety of stock.

I only ever went to the Kingston branch a few times and that was enough for me as it always resembled a rather disorganised jumble sale.

Maxine, must admit I do like their chocolates and cakes. Also have bought lovely smelling candles, bought a handbag, and a Regatta jacket. Just unable to stand for long, as don't have the seats anymore. Have to sit and look at the shoes instead.

It’s not a regular department store. When my son was at art club in hammers I used to spend an hour browsing in there before I picked him up. Also they do fantastic Aki wear for kids.

What’s wrong with that? The idea of TK Maxx is that you rifle through and see what you like. When it’s gone it’s gone.

Haven't a clue what you are on about, what has flowery clothes got to do with anything, make it your post, or start your own about mending knickers or something.

So you don't like lots of colours?  I thought you didn't like flowery clothes.  That's why it's great when you find a style that suits and fits you to get it copied.  Then you can do your own thing instead of following fashion.
