Looking for consultancy work

I am looking for a bit of extra work away from my poorly paid daytime job, I would like some consultancy assignments , preferably with far east travel (J or F), daily rate between 6 to 10 K sterling.

Yes Martine, he was and yours was a good, funny and succinct post.  Mine wasn't because the situation is just far more complicated. There seems to be this idea amongst some MPs that they are not earning enough money for not doing their jobs. (How much time and effort are they devoting to their constituents and  how available are they making themselves for that?) Yet they seem to be completely unaware of the difficulties they are actually creating and not alleviating for many who do want to work and are doing their level best yet are being berated and are feeling stressed, demoralised and underappreciated while overworked and under-supported in conditions that are not as good as they ought to and could be.

Yes! Correct.  And I heard Charlie Mullins ex Pimlico Plumbers say on a phone-in that of course he would think more favourably about employing someone that had full-time child-care arrangements.Only those childcare arrangements are likely to be Grandma and Grandad - and of course if they are the childcare then they themselves will not be available to go back to work despite their wealth of experience!I now hear that that the childcare companies were depending on the income from the early years' childcare to subsidise the cost of the underfunded older years' childcare - so the changes will likely put more of them out of business!

That's a bit steep. Best we can offer is £160k pa. Responsibilities include lying constantly, trashing relationships with our main trading partners and bringing about a permanent dimunition in the economy (4% according to independent experts). Hours are long but it is a fun place to work, though must bring own booze.

I think Philippa's point was that people in government saying those on universal credit who couldn't make ends meet should work longer hours in spite of all their other family commitments, while government ministers want consultancy jobs because they can't survive on their MP's or minesterial salaries?

Andy, lol!  I thought Allen was having a dig at Matt Hancock and Kwasi Kwarteng, so I thought I’d post along those lines.  Anyway, I’m not sure what Philippa is talking about or maybe it’s me that’s wrong.  Confusing!

You're right, if you are not earning enough you really should work some extra hours.  Don't worry about taking and picking up the toddler from the creche or the older one from school - your Mum and Dad can give up work and do that in between sorting out Grandad's IT problems and making Grandma's supper. Neither of them want to move house away from all their friends and relations.  Mum will have to stay over/move in and sleep on the sofa in the sitting room because the creche is only open for half your working hours and neither the school or creche opens early enough for you to start your shift on time.  Dad will have to stay near Grandad - or Grandma (just hope she remembers to check she's put the phone down properly after the last phone call before bed).  So neither Mum or Dad will be able to carry on working and paying tax any more and you, yourself, won't of course be able to work at all if anybody's ill (and the kids at creche and primary school are a veritable smorgasbord of viruses) because they won't be allowed back for 48 hours if either of them are sent home ill.  You could of course go on strike for more money as you can't possibly afford a Wealth Advisor to help you to minimise the amount of tax that you are currently paying in order to maximise your salary.

Alan, I am also looking for one of these consultancy jobs.  My specialised knowledge covers the Putney and the SW15 website, rock and pop music, gardening and chocolate.  Please contact me and I am sure I could help you but I don’t get out of bed for less than £10,000 per day.
