Yes Ed, it is true that different rules have applied to NI.Please remind me, was it not the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland once?Has NI not had special treatment due to a strong feeling of unionists vs republicans? Fast forward to 2016 and there was a referendum and the leave vote won. Scotland is up in arms because they voted overwhelmingly to remain. NI did so as well, by the way.Westminster has ignored them for a very long time though Theresa May relied on the DUP for a coalition government to see Brexit through. Then came Boris who, for reasons known only to him, the ERG and other Brexiteers, agreed on the NI Protocol which, due to whatever, meant there was a border on the Irish Sea between NI and the UK..... So much for United Kingdom! But, at the time, BoJo did say that NI had the best of both worlds. So, if now, very much like then, NI can have the best of both worlds, why can the rest of the UK not enjoy the same?
