Probably!  I've never heard of him before but it was on the radio and about nuclear fission and nuclear fusion and it was interesting - but it was a bit early in the morning! Maybe nothing new but good to hear that it is something hoped for and being worked on although the Americans I understand have now progressed even further. I never studied anything like that in Science and the most interesting experiment was right at the start and was sprinkling iron filings on a Bunsen burner.  Girls only got to study Science...I've watched the bits of wind turbine being ferried out to sea to be installed from Harwich and when the weather is fine you can see lots of these all along the coast.  So it was fascinating to get to see what they look like close up when Guy Martin was out at sea talking about them and doing some maintenance.I've found this series totally fascinating looking at all the different alternative technologies.

Would that be Dr Brian Applebe? Was he saying anything new regarding fission and fusion?

Brian Appleby of Imperial College was also on the radio yesterday morning talking about nuclear fission and nuclear fusion.  I suppose it may have been a repeat?
