Just to cheer you all up …

I see the Doomsday Clock is getting closer to midnight, but does it show the reality of the issues? I remember at primary school being told it was going to be the end of the World, by some other clever young child and we all sat waiting. The worst thing that happened was a chimney on a house opposite our school caught fire and billowing smoke was coming out it seemed like ages it continued for.

Kennedy didn't live very long whereas Biden will probably outlive us all - well at least by a few minutes :)But back to the UK - how many wars are we in now? I've lost count!But I do know how many we are well prepared for - which doesn't seem to change much.

1962 seems a long time ago ... I don't seem to remember being worried by it; possibly too much going on at school; or perhaps Khrushchev and Kennedy seemed more sensible - they did after all negotiate a settlement - whereas Putin and Biden don't appear to talking, and some of the Russian military leaders seem to be a bit out of control. (Of course,  who knows the real truth of what's going on?) However, Ukraine aside, there's the longterm risk of climate change that's not really being dealt with and if serious action isn't taken soon will change from a crisis to a catastrophe ...
