Are H&F's road measures making Putney's traffic worse?

I've heard a number of people claiming that the new 'Clean Air Neighbourhood' scheme by H&F Council on Wandsworth Bridge Road is resulting in more traffic being diverted over Putney Bridge. I'm not sure how this would happen - can anyone explain to me what the impact actually is?

Freddie - I have to agree on the congestion.I'm not advocating cameras - we have those and they are mainly used for collecting revenue not enforcing good road use.H&F have implemented have promoted cycling with some very good segregated lanes. I can't say the same for Wandsworth - they really seem unwilling to challenge TFL.WBC doesn't seem to have anything to show for the congestion unlike H&F - rightly or wrongly!

You can’t possibly know that they don’t suffer the same problems. Personally I’d rather live without cameras on every road, not checking crime, just motorists. A middle line would be a compromise. On another related note there was a report highlighted in the Telegrsph today that states that since khans ULEZ and other traffic controls congestion is worse than ever. How nice.

For or against the H&F changes you have admire the fact that they do seem to implement and enforce changes.You only have to step foot in Putney to see: no right turns ignored 20 mph speed limit ignored. Red lights ignored Double parking outside schools left lane turn right only  - ignoredWBC both before and after the elections are not really on top of their game. Traffic flows when there is hardly any traffic is dreadful.

We’ll the only thing that might contribute are yellow the signs telling people to use Putney Bridge when travelling east on the New Kings Rd because there’s no way, other than doing a u-turn at the junction of Harwood Rd, to to get to Wandsworth Bridge now. Brilliant minds at H&F, evidently.
